Dear Members,
The New Generation Assyrians (NGA) has been working for the Assyrian community and has been affiliated to the ASUK since November 2002. The support from our youth members and their parents was tremendous and enthralling to the founding members. As the years progressed NGA continued to strive to meet its goals and aims of bringing the Assyrian youth together which they successfully achieved in every event. The members of NGA (past and present) devoted their time and effort to ensuring every event or project was successful. Every member of NGA (past and present) ensured that the group take the right decisions to ensure we always did the right thing.
Over the last few years the members of NGA have been striving to encourage new members to join the group. NGA have advertised, have personally spoken to parents and have personally spoken to the youth community. However, the results were disappointing because we received little response or feedback.
As a final resort, NGA recently agreed to hold a meeting for the youth community to elect new members to the NGA. Unknowingly, as we started to progress with organising this event, it came to our attention that the ASUK have the intention of setting up a youth group. The NGA strongly agree with this idea and fully support the ASUK in the formation of the youth group and as members of the NGA we encourage all the youth community to sign up and get involved.
As
a result of this, we feel that the best course of action would be to step aside
and allow for the new youth group to be formed. As we are already a very small
community in the
It is with extreme dismay to inform you that as of immediate effect the New Generation Assyrians will cease to exist. All NGA files (minutes from meetings with NGA / ASUK members, account records, bank statements) will be given to the ASUK to store, the NGA website will be shut down and control of the website will be handed over to the ASUK. Finally, the NGA bank account will close and all proceeds will be donated to the ASUK.
We would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank God for giving us the strength to dedicate years of our life to working for the nation we all love. Secondly, we would like to thank every single one of you for your support, encouragement and dedication in attending NGA events and supporting the projects. Finally, we thank the past and present ASUK committees for their help and support since the formation of NGA. We have very much enjoyed every event over the last 7 years, and we look forward to seeing new faces and new events being organised by the new youth group.
Yours truly,
The New Generation
